Lendtech Firm – Chief Executive Officer

By the time this client came to Fram Search, they had already been looking for several months. A growing lendtech business, they needed to appoint a new CEO to succeed one of the founding team, and the profile they required was genuinely difficult to find.

The firm did not need a corporate operator. They needed someone who had built something before, who understood the founder mindset from the inside, but who was now ready to run and scale an existing business rather than start one. An entrepreneur willing to become an intrapreneur, in effect. On top of that, the candidate needed genuine fintech experience and a real understanding of how lending businesses work. Each of those requirements narrows the field. Together, they made for a demanding brief.

Fram Search approached it with intensity. We ran advertising, conducted structured research, and worked our networks hard across the fintech and lending markets. We spoke to a large number of candidates, covering the market broadly before narrowing our focus to those who genuinely met the brief rather than simply resembling it.

Within two weeks of beginning that process, we had produced a shortlist. Two candidates progressed to the financial stages of the process. One was appointed.

It was a strong outcome for a search that had stalled elsewhere, and a reminder that the right combination of reach, research, and rigorous screening can move quickly even on the most complex of briefs.
