We’ve mentioned in the past that we’ve seen a pick up in activity and indeed, the summer has been extremely busy for us. However, we’ve had some time for fun too!
In July we failed abysmally at Wrest Park’s American-themed quiz night, we’ve enjoyed the summer vibe when out and about in London , and Chloe finished her first half-marathon on the first weekend in September. We also had a team night playing crazy golf in August, where Jack proved that at least one of us knows how to use a golf club. There was much fighting talk in the office beforehand, though our previous record on sporting challenges should have provided a clue; so far, we’ve collectively failed at boomerang throwing, scored very few strikes at bowling, and the Xmas pool competition was won primarily on penalty points. Still, we had high hopes.
The crazy golf itself was a pirate-themed extravaganza complete with water hazards and bunkers. Obviously we made good use of these, and Simon’s challenge foundered on a particularly vicious run-in with a water hazard. Steady high scoring did it for Mia and Chloe, whilst Beate performed strongly on the front nine, only to hit out of bounds once too often on the back nine (and those pesky hazards again). Kelly did put in a strong challenge, but there was only one winner in the end.
Here are some photos of Jack and his fumbling colleagues in action.
Simon proves better at larking about than at golf.
Mia in action.
Kelly and Jack oversee proceedings – the only competitive players, as it turned out!
The ferry – it was an impressive course, though we would have liked less water hazards!
Our two for one cocktail order didn’t quite go to plan, but Mia and Chloe weren’t complaining…
